Known for his impressionistic take on coasts and shore life, a hand painted reproduction of The Midday Rest, by the late Henry Scott Tuke(1858-1929). Tuke's unique approach to this depiction of shore life is channeled through the male gaze, creating a modest sensuality to the harbor worker front and center. Normally reserved for female subjects, Tuke's male nudes would soon become inspiration for out gay artists in the 1970s. Signed by the painting reproduction artist in the lower right corner.
