Cast iron doorstop by Hubley takes the form of a parlor maid holding a cocktail tray. Tones of red, black, and beige are hand painted on this doorstop. The styling of this piece has a distinctly vintage and nostalgic feel.
About the Manufacturer:
Hubley Manufacturing Company was incorporated in 1894 by John Hubley in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. They started with cast iron toys before moving into doorstops and bookends as well. Their subject as a company was primarily cars and other vehicles, but dogs were also a focus, especially in the early days. These cast iron pieces were mass produced from hand carved molds and were hand painted and otherwise finished by a master artisan. By the 1970s, Hubley was out of business. These figures are highly collectible and have undeniable classic charm.
This doorstop is one of hundreds of pieces of nostalgia that are available at our location in Grandview! Come in today and see the full collection.ZBYB 109
