    Circa 1991, a serigraph signed, and numbered #270 in an edition of 350. Titled Joyful Day, the graphic approach Tarkay is famous for in his post impressionist style emphasizes the joie de vivre of this social gathering in a garden. Jubilant color and an accented use of color is both bold and harmonious with an excellent understanding of color theory. 


    About the Artist:

    Itzchak Tarkay(1935-2012) was an Israeli artist born in Serbia of 1935 who would go on to become a key figure in the modern figurative movement. A notable painter, Tarkay was also known for his graphic work primarily achieved through the production of serigraphs. A student of the Avni Art AcademyTarkay was mentored by many important Israeli artists such as Mokady and and Janko.
